Starting from the Venice Biennale – a contemporary culture platform in the fields of art, design and architecture – participants will explore the landscape around Venice. The region developed with a ‘diffused city’ character, where urban, natural and agricultural areas are no longer distinct entities; in this territory the economic, political and social forces have also provided impetus for interesting and advanced experiences in the fields of architecture and design.

Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) has a central role in the panorama of contemporary architecture, and visits to many of his works in the Veneto will help participants to understand how light can define the space with great aesthetic value. Within the urban complexity of the Veneto region, participants of the course have the opportunity to explore excellent contemporary architectural examples.
