Professional Lighting Designers’ Association
The Professional Lighting Designers’ Association (PLDA) is one of the forefront groups in the field of lighting design in architecture, a truly international association with members from 50 different countries, comprised of professionals, students and educators.
Memberships actively contribute to the association’s efforts to establish the profession of the independent lighting designer and to increase awareness of the significance of light for our well-being and enjoyment within the built environment.
Supporting and encouraging Lighting Design education is a core value of the PLDA, which is deeply involved with planning and organizing effective education and training programs.

The Vicenza Institute of Architecture
The Vicenza Institute of Architecture has been an outpost of the University of Florida for more than 25 years. VIA is based in Vicenza, Italy, a major center of the Veneto, the mainland region around the urban archipelago of Venice. Here students are tutored for a semester in architecture, immersing in the special experience of this particularly rich urban context. The town of Vicenza is a UNESCO world heritage centre, which is famed for its architectural legacy. The Vicenza Institute of Architecture thus gives the student a unique opportunity to live, study and travel in Northern Italy, experiencing historic tradition and contemporary Italian architectural culture.
